In 2025, we strengthened Seagull’s security foundations to better support organisations operating under legal, operational, and public scrutiny:

A successfully completed AI Impact Assessment, strengthening transparency and accountability
Continuous pentest-driven hardening, with improvements rolled out throughout the year

PTZ camera calibration without the need for landmarks
Colour extraction for colour-based filtering in the logbook
Thermal model support for reliable detection in low-visibility conditions
Improved length and speed alerts that ignore edge-touching vessels and reduce false triggers
Similar Vessel Search for deeper pattern recognition
Bookmarking of logbook entries to track vessels of interest over time
Clear vessel descriptions to support documentation and reporting
A new Logbook Grid View for faster scanning and filtering
An upgraded logbook interface with clearer layouts and improved modals
Cleaner navigation, including separated statistics and logbook pages and refined sidebars
Integration with Milestone’s Video Management System, enabling seamless alert routing and faster incident response
Each of these improvements was designed to reduce cognitive load and help operators focus on what actually requires attention.
Stronger foundations for Applied AI
Behind the interface, we also invested heavily in the systems that make Seagull dependable at scale:
A fully upgraded machine-learning test suite, improving robustness and reliability
Introduction of the Errorflux metric, making it easier to analyse and compare model performance
These internal upgrades don’t seek attention — but they are essential to maintaining accuracy, consistency, and confidence as the platform evolves.
