SEAGULL RECORDS ALL TRAFFIC

Set alarms by ship type, time, and speed

SEAGULL sees every move

There are approximately 33 million recreational crafts in use around the world. Many of these use waterways, such as large rivers, canals, and other bodies of water. Safety and combating illegal activities are essential for governments, municipalities, states, coastguards, and ports. SEAGULL registers not only commercial vessels but also all pleasure craft!

You can generate warnings using vessel type, length, speed, and time of day. Then, with appropriate alarms, even with scarce occupation, quick action can be taken in unsafe or suspicious situations.

SEAGULL features

>>  VESSEL TYPE IDENTIFICATION

SEAGULL can visually identify different vessel types, split into eight categories, ranging from sailing yachts and rowing boats to tankers and ferries. Once a vessel is recognized, it is registered in the logbook along with the following information:

  • The ship type
  • Time and date of registration
  • The direction of the ship (entered or exited)
  • Speed of passage
  • An image of the ship

Next, there is room for the operator to leave a note regarding an event involving the ship or any other relevant information.

>>   INSIGHTFUL DASHBOARD

The dashboard offers a complete overview of the activity in the camera view. It is made up of the following components:

  • Live stream - A real-time view of what is happening in the camera's field of view.
  • Logbook - An overview of all traffic in the last 72 hours. This overview can be downloaded as a report.
  • Count graph - A graph that provides a total count of all traffic per vessel type over a selected period.
  • Trends graph - A graph that provides insight into the traffic trends for each vessel category over a selected period.
>>   ALERTS

SEAGULL offers the possibility of generating alerts to grab the operator's attention for situations requiring human interpretation. These alerts can be customized with settings that match the area to be monitored, such as the speed and time of passage.

>>   REPORTING

SEAGULL allows users to download the content of the logbook. Next, monthly reports of vessel traffic trends throughout the monitored area will be emailed.

>>   ANONYMIZED DATA STORAGE

SEAGULL aims to comply with GDPR by ensuring all data is stored anonymously. In each stored image, any visible people will be anonymized by blurring their heads.

SEAGULL sees more

Registration is an essential part of security on and around waterways. Radar systems and AIS transponders monitor professional traffic. However, a large group of vessels go undetected by these systems. This group consists of pleasure craft and ships that deliberately want to remain unseen.

Seagull registers every visible vessel, automatically completing radar and AIS sensors.

Radar systems register large ships with high accuracy but have difficulty detecting smaller objects such as recreational craft. In addition, a radar system cannot distinguish between vessel types.

AIS systems can effectively exchange navigational information but do not provide a foolproof method of control. Pleasure craft, for example, is not required to have an AIS transponder on board. In addition, vessels that do have AIS transponders on board can switch them off at any time and remain unregistered.

Seagull complements

Usually, there are insufficient human resources available to perform registration manually. These times demand technology that helps to work more efficiently. Seagull takes work off your hands and complements existing teams and systems.

Surveillance systems are designed to monitor and record activities in the port, such as ship movements, cargo handling, and passenger traffic. These systems include CCTV cameras, vessel traffic management systems, and other surveillance technologies. Seagull complements these systems using existing cameras to record and complete data from AIS and radar systems.

Port management systems are used for berth occupancy planning, financial administration, and reporting. They use AIS and communication with ships to register ships. Seagull relieves the operator of work by automatically keeping track of all incoming and outgoing traffic.
